I'm seeding this under U.S. news because not only was this place a local treasure and a family tradition for many here in MN but was a national icon as well, a rare surviving testament to a bygone era.

If you are a fan of Car Craft Magazine you no doubt have at least seen pictures of this place and possibly read about it. Car Craft holds the Car Craft Summer Nationals car show in St. Paul, MN every year and Porky's Drive-In was the after party if you will.

It wasn't just a place, it was a lifestyle for generations. My father used to go there as a teenager to cruise the strip as did I. It represents a lifestyle that has defined generations and pop culture often now depicted only in post cards and paintings.

It would be interesting to see if anyone has memories of this or similar places and too see how many might still exist.

yea that really sucks. In the city where I am from...spokane, wa we have a place like this..its called Dicks....walk up ordering only..seating is outside....and it gets cold here...but the place always has business....burgers are cheap cheap as well as the fries. When I was a teenager we would all cruise and then go to dicks to hang out..cruise some more.

government put an end to that here in the 90's. made cruising illegal.

we still have our "porkys" but we lost our cruising.
