Brett ,

For 17 years I watched you, poked fun of your failures, loathed your successes, and csonsidered you the enemy's general, for I am a Vikings fan. I admit, it took some getting used to, seeing the Favre No. 4 in purple. But you overcame the critics, won the hearts of fans, and sillenced those who said you didn't have it anymore. In a nailbiter of a game vs. an equally deserving Saints team you played with heart and determination, took hits and got back up. Thank you for the memories of a great season for purple fans everywhere, you are a champion.

And to the Saints,

Congratulations on the NFC championship and a great championship game. It was a match of equals and you prevailed in the end! Of course I wanted my Vikings to be going to Miami but if I had to think city deserving of a celebration, I could think of none other than New Orleans. I'll be a Saints fan for the Superbowl!

Great sportsmanship! I really enjoyed watching Brett this season with the Vikings, even though they kicked my favorite Cowboys out of the playoffs. I actually hope Favre comes back for one more try!

Great sportsmanship!

Indeed...being a lifelong Bears fan I am in the minority when it comes to giving Farve his accolades. He is still IMHO one of the hardest working football players I will ever get to watch. Great game w/ a disappointing ending.

It was a true nailbiter of a game -- always hard on the ol' heart with all the ups and downs of a hard-fought game. But I'll give Brett the 'True Grit' award for playing with a limp even after an injury suffered during the game.

He earned every buck he made this year. OK? So I don't wanna hear any bellyachin' about every little flub or every interception. Every QB gets some interceptions every year no matter how good the QB or the overall offense protection.

I've never been a big Favre fan.... until this season, and especially tonight's game. He played like a warrior and smiled right through it.

The team may not have made the Superbowl, but he is a champion.

Favre has a 2-yr contract to fulfill. It's hard to see how he might walk away from a contract, no matter how much he ached.

But he goes thru this every dang year -- keeping the team waiting for his decision on whether to return. That is just how he is. But you can be sure that when he does decide to come back and play another season, that he is prepared to give it his ALL. Favre is an ignitor, someone who truly leads the team to play better and go further than anyone ever expected them to. So the team really needs him in order to fulfill the talents of the whole offense. C'mon back, Brett, we need you and love you.

No Thanks..I don't want to think about Brett Favre throwing the dumbest interception football has ever known!

Good bye Brett..and this time stay out at pasture!

It's sad that for all of th greatness of Favre, his interceptions at the end of playoff games are what I tend to remember most. Not because they were intercepted, or that the defense made a great plays. No. His gunslinger, try anything to make a play even though its not necessary - mentality is what kills me. He could've easily run, or threw the ball away and preserved the field goal try. Instead he forces the ball and gives the Saints hope.

The game on sunday was classic Favre. He's as tough as nails and will fight till the end. And in the end, he'll go rogue and do something so dumb. And naturally the national media will find some excuse for it. Same ol song and dance.

BTW, he'll be back.

As a die hard Bears fan, Bret has always been someone I loved to hate. As a fan, I hope he comes back! He is pure enjoyment to watch!!! If not, I will continue to root for him even off the field.
